I have neglected my blog, I read lots of blogs, then tutted at myself for not getting in to a routine of doing mine. Time to try again.
Today's subject is my cakes on location.
A few weeknds ago I had my first Saturday consisting of 2 wedding cakes. One of which was made entirely on the day.

I put on my new purple chef jacket and it transformed me in to a super cake lady. I began baking and took a break to deliver a wedding cake I made the previous evening, just a few miles away at
Nant y ffin, Llandissilio. The cake for Julie and Andrew was a cascade of hearts with lilac glitter. There was a disaster when I discovered I forgot my camera - here is a photo from one of the guests!
I grabbed a friend to accompany me on this crazy day and after standing back and admiring the room, Chair covers really transform a room don;t they?
Christinas looked fantastic (she got married at this venue too so I'm sure she enjoyed setting up the room!)
So we rushed back to the kitchen, quickly ate somethign and filled up the car with the freshly baked sponges and LOADS of washed fruit.

The cake was for Vanessa and Trefor at the beautiful
Slebech Park just a few miles from my home. The 4 tiers of victoria sponge and
fresh fruit was so much fun, it had to be built on site and we had a time slot to do so. As we assembled in the besutiful marquee we caught glimpses of smart guests and pretty flowergirls. I found it all very excited, and even more so when
Angharad Gwenter the photographer came in to the room. We obviously did not have much time left - Angharad got some great shots of the final touches being added to the cake and as the last rose petal went on the table the bride and groom stood beside me! It was wonderful to get to see their reactions and then watch them have their photos taken with the cake. We left the marquee and welled up hearing squeeling ladies as they see the cake for the first time.
I love weddings!
